I'd straight forward contact an admin. I know this game is NOT associated with a virus but I'd still run through the scanner to be sure. But yeah, I've never experienced that before... :/ it also could be that the quest is unrepeatable but yeah, that's strange. If it's associated with a quest at all and if it's that particular quest, then try a different one. I hope this helps, but I've never experienced that.

I get this error at the point after you log on and right before you select your character.
also, does the download page not distribute the latest version, or?

the download page does not have the latest version as the point of the updater is to push out small updates over time so that you dont have to redownload the game each time we add something

go into your game folder and open the version.txt file in notepad and change the numbers to 0. exit and save and then relaunch the game. it should bring up the updater console and should download more files.

No need to worry, sometimes files become corrupted.
If what Cloud says doesn't work, completely delete the file version.txt
