Preset help :(
« on: August 31, 2017, 12:18:26 PM »
Hello! I've been trying to make a preset since I first signed up for Last Moon, and despite tutorials and following them to a T I still cannot seem to get anything to work. I'm quite frustrated with it tbh. I'll try to list all my issues, so be warned, long post.

For the following images I'll try to explain and show what I want the preset to look like. This is for a oc based, and named, after New 52 Harley Quinn. So let's just call her Harley.

1: I cannot find what the right file size for the preset it. By this I mean the preset 'base' you get when you download the game for you to color over. I find the completed presets in the LM folder all have different file sizes. I started out with the blank base that was in the folder, only to discover it was too small. Thus the markings were 'pressed in'(if that makes sense) on the face, because the file is too small. I went and found the UVS, which are guidelines in of themselves. Spoiler alert; tracing over the UVS is somehow too big.

Can someone send me the right base file size for making presets? I need all of them, because all my presets don't fit the models.
Example- this is the result of using the blank preset head base that came in the game.

Notice the errors. The blue 'eyeliner' doesn't go around the eyes in the slightest. It's supposed to resemble thick eyeliner. I thought maybe this wasn't possible until I ran into a user with a preset that did this perfectly. Also notice the red eye shadow does not taper at the end. In fact the end ends up on the nose for some reason. It's supposed to resemble this Notice the tapered ends. I'm not worried about the right(blue) side because her hair covers it.

This is a mock up of what I WANT it to look like in-game

Should also mention the stomach coloring: It doesn't go to the middle of the chest. It's only at the neck. Her stomach coloring stops in between her chest, or the 'breast'. It doesn't show up on the preset.

I mentioned I traced over the model UVS for this
Here's what I did
Here's the result
I do not know how to fix this.

Tl;dr - can anyone please send me a proper, actual will fit on the model blank preset base, and maybe label what goes to what on a separate file? Mine are either too big or too small.

2: I cannot get the body type to match in testing.
If you look at the images above the test model has round ears and diff head shape. I want the final to have the head that comes with the pointed ears, as well as the pointed ears.
Is there a guide for the body types? I also do not know how to enter these into the 'preset' file. I've tried the tutorials with no luck. I don't know how to label the body types so this makes testing nearly impossible for me.

3: How do I get two different body sides to my preset?
I seen someone mention this that you have to put the coding in the preset/material file. How do I do this?
Harley is supposed to have three distinct tattoos:
A joke one ONLY on her left hip, but it appears on her right-https://s26.postimg.org/qxud9bgah/lefterror.png
And, yet to add it, and RIGHT FROM WRIST TATTOO, visible here- (stops above the thumb)
and a LEFT FROM LIMP TATTOO, example here-

Can anyone help me with this? Be greatly appreciated.

3: Issues with hair and tails
Is there a guide for how to properly do manes and highlights? I'm not to pissed about the man, but I'd prefer to know how to make edits, there isn't enough red and I do not know how to do highlights-
and her tail has white tips, despite no white on the file. I can only assume this has to do with wrong file sizes(again)

TLDR; Someone please send me the proper preset base size, help with coding double sides that are different, model numbers for testing, and where the colors go

thanks ;_; i'm so fed up. I feel like I'll never figure this out.

Alright, so lets start!

Your files should have all the perfect size which they need if you got them from the UV folder. Its just that the UV's doesnt fit 100% on the models head and thats normal. Thats why some probs happens with presets and u need a while to fix them. (Take a look at the files which I posted, whether they are .png or .jpg. You need to change them for the script maybe)
http://imgur.com/a/71LYF <-- The first pic is the UV for the original body, its the only one which allows 2 differents sides.(You can paint both sides individual)

Its not the red of the eye that ends between the eyes (above the nose) its the red neck color. Thats because of the UV. You could see it in the UV head which I posted here. (The little thing between the neck and the mouth is the shitz between the eyes)

The things with the red and blue eye color doesnt work bc of the UV. You can see where the eye is but when the purple area ends then there's like a cut around the eye. So you have to find the right place on the file to see where you have to draw the rest of the colored eye. Like I did here with Lyrics preset http://imgur.com/a/UnFq5

Also dont just color the purple parts/areas on the UV, at the end you have to color the whole file so you wont get any white tips like on your tail.

Here's a little help so you know what to write in the script if you wanna test a body part, head or mane etc. http://lastmoon.org/forum/presets-markings/last-moon-body-names-~-preset-help/
Change the body to body3 to test your original body and also change the mane etc. Go to Last Moon > Game > Preset.campaign (Right mouse click > Edit with Notepad if you downloaded smt like this)

I dont have the UV for that mane but you have to play a bit with the file and test different stuff. And like I said, color the whole file so you wont get white tips.

I forgot that the blue doesnt show on your chest bc its like under the body, the body part startes where the blue should start. You could just draw the blue part on the body part so you will be able to see it.

I hope this helped, if you need more help lemme know!

Thank you so much! I was beginning to think I'd never get some help :c
that all helped so much!
Question, how do I have a double-sided preset? I'm wanting to make a yin-yang kinda thing with the right side being entirely black and the left side being entirely white. Someone told me you have to edit the preset coding. Would you know how?

Glad to hear that!

As far as I know you can just do that with the original body without changing anything in the codes.
But maybe it's possible, Idk.
Search a bit on this page http://www.kitopen.com/ ,maybe you can find anything helpful. Also search on other IT Server pages to see whether the code exsist.
