Title: DX Please help me!

 :o I have played last moon for about two months by now,but when i got on today it suddenly wouldn't work,it just stayed on the checking for updates screen. Can anyone help me? I really don't want to put in the setting all over again,it took me a long time to get them just right!

Happens. Even to me did, when I first played the game. Same here, these black screens.... But, try re-installing or getting Direct X. If you would, that may help.  There is not a problem with the Visual C++, mine is 2013, not 2010, so I think you have it.
