Hello~
I'm new here, but I've played Last Moon like an year ago. But this never happened to me before.
Every time I double-click on LastMoon.exe icon, It begins to update.
I wait for it, it takes 1 hour for one thing to update. LITERALLY.
I restart my computer, launch LastMoon.exe again and I wait for it to update.
But it won't update, somehow it stops, crashes.
I don't know how to explain this, but it just stops updating.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I already tried to reinstall the game, didn't changed.
-
you say its been a while since you played, did you have the latest client version of the game? have you tried only reinstalling? or have you tried redownloading the application from the website and running it that way?
-
Hurhurhur, So many questions.
1. No, I uninstalled the game few months ago.
2. Um, as I said before, I downloaded the game yesterday and then I tried installing it. Everything was fine, until I launched the game and it wasn't updating.
3. Yes. I downloaded, installed then launched the application and everything went wrong, as I explained/

Go to your Last Moon folder and delete the 'version.txt' file, then run the game.
-
I did as you said, it is still the same thing. I have to say, it just gets worse. Now when it says STARTING UPDATE, nothing loads.
-
Your firewall might be blocking the update. Don't worry, LM contains no viruses.
Turn your firewall off and let the game update.
-
Yeah...
I left firewall off and LM on for few hours, didn't helped. x.x

1) none of the information provided in your second post were mentioned in your first post. so uhm
are you running the game under the administrator account of your computer? make sure you're allowing all permissions from the windows itself to whatever norton/avast/virus protection program you use. delete the version.txt again, and run the updater once more.
if it still isn't updating after this, go into your lm folder and open the update.txt and copy what it says here.
-
Alright,
Did as you said >
Runned the game as admin,
allowed all permissions,
deleted version.txt again and runned the updater once more,
The updater said, that it can't find LastMoon.exe file, which was weird since both of them are in same folder,
Version.txt file was empty, nothing is written in it.
-----------
For a second I thought,
if it is 'updating', then I am missing some files.
If that's true, then I need updated LM folder, right?
Can any of you send it to me?
Iknowthiswon'tworkbutIhadtoask.

As Fish said look in your update.txt (not version.txt) and post its contents here.
Before anyone sends you their Last Moon do that ^.
edit: omfg update.log*

this is looking like a connection problem. you may have to sit there while it updates. and when it closes reopen until you reach version 4.24. its nothing we can really help with. its a problem with communication from your computer to the server to download files. probably because your net times out.
-
Ooh, alright. If that's the case, 'the updated folder' idea won't work?
-
Have you tried right clicking and Run as Administrator
