Title: Why is it so hard to walk?

I've turned grass, water reflections, shadows, everything off! But I'm still having trouble :c
My laptop is pretty good, so I don't think it's a performance error... Everything else in the game is working fine, sounds and graphics

I can walk diagonally fairly well, but jumping is kind of jiddery :s Walking and running happens in small flashes, but the animations seem to be working fine

Any fixes for this?

If you just created a new character you should restart the game, it's a common bug that causes you to collide with your own head.

Thank you though, it's working a lot better now c:

Also, how do I change areas? Like getting to the Portal Island and such

There is a portal inside of a cave off the coast of Default. It has the vast majority [although not all, like Lost Island (Default), Sun Temple (Castle), etc] of all of the map portals in it along the walls and center. You should see a blue/cyan circle on your mini map and when you scroll over it, it will say portal island.
