Remember Me Thursday - Light A Candle For Orphan Pets

Remember Me Thursday is a worldwide coalition of pet adoption organizations, celebrities and people like you, who raise awareness about the plight of millions of orphan pets around the world waiting for forever homes.
By lighting a candle on Remember Me Thursday, September 25, 2014, you are remembering those pets who have lost their lives but you are also shining a light on orphan pets in need of homes right now.

Animal-lovers and animal welfare organizations across the globe will unite on Thursday, September 25, 2014 (the fourth Thursday of September, annually) with a Remember Me Thursday pet candle-lighting ceremony. The candles, lit on the exact same day across the world, will honor the millions of pets who lost their lives without the benefit of a loving home and shine a light on the millions of healthy pets who are still awaiting adoption. The Remember Me Thursday global awareness campaign encourages individuals to light a candle this day (literally or virtually) and to opt to adopt, reducing the millions of orphan pets euthanized each year.

You can light an actual candle and take a photo of yourself and/or your pet on the day and upload it on social networks such as Facebook with the tag #LightForPets to help educate and make others aware of pet adoption or if you're unable to light a real one, you can light a virtual one on the website, or both!

I would love to see the Last Moon forums absolutely covered in Remember Me Thursday avatar or signature images! Especially on the actual day. If you can, please put an image somewhere on your profile so others know about it! It may not be much, but the first step to saving animals' lives is education and making the public aware.
