Title: Game Guide (Controls)
Post by: Zaroque on July 13, 2014, 06:48:04 PM
Thanks for reminding me WarFang <3

Walk/Swim/Fly Controls

W - Go straight.
A - Go to the left.
D - Go to the right.
S - Go back.

C - Fly, Open wings.
Pg Up - Flies upwards.
Pg Dn - Flies downwards.

F - Fighting stance. Press it once to go to it, press it again to go to relaxed (normal).

Click Right Ctrl to spin with A and D and S to back away. Press right ctrl again to get the normal walking mode.
To walk hold shift. To switch between auto run and auto walk hit Caps Lock.
Press your spacebar to jump, press spacebar again (while mid-air) to double jump.

Hunting Controls
Prey cannot be found in: Default, Bazaar, Portal Island or Lost Island.

What are skills?: Skills are obtained by hunting or collecting them from 'Draw Points' (the spinning blue crystals which give you random skills). There are lots of skills, the one you need the most are cures.

How do I get cures?: Attack (double click, or press, hold and slide your mouse on ''attack'') Black or Brown bunnies in Hidden Valley (Default > Portal Island > Hidden Valley, use the map controls listed later in this guide).

My health bar is going lower, how do I cure myself?: You must have these cure skills in order to do so. Once you kill a Hare/Bunny, the skill will go to you. To get to the cure, press '2' until you see it and press yourself or press F1 and click on the screen. Do not waste your cures!

It says I'm wounded and cannot attack, what do I do?: Lay down on your back in water until the bar returns to its normal colour, then cure yourself.

Can I cure my pet?: Yes! It is important that, like yourself, you keep it topped up on health.

How do I tame prey?: You need tame skills, I suggest you get them from Draw Points. Once you have aprox. 50-100 tames, go find the prey you wish to make your pet! Once you have found it, attack it until its low on health and click it with tames until it says Tame Successful.

Can I have more than one pet?: No, sorry.

How can I get rid of my pet?: type /releasepet

When I killed an animal theres something left on the floor for me, what is it and how do I pick it up?: Its an item! Double click or press and hold (slide onto Equip) to Equip it. To put it in your stash/storage press 'I'.

It doesn't want me to pick it up, what can I do?: Press F3 and use it to go closer to the item, then prey and pick it up. Mass-Clicking often helps!

Action Controls

Press Z to sit.
Press Z again to lie down.
Press Z again to plop down.
or
Press Z to sit.

Press J if you want to see all the listed emotions/actions.

Camera Modes

F1 - Useful for hunting and using your collected skills.
F2 - Normal mode/default mode.

B - Character biography.
N - Friend list/Block list.
I - Items and stashed items.
J - Actions and emotes.
P - Party chat.
L - Quest Log.

Map controls

There is a mini-map on the top left corner of your screen. Hold your cursor over the dots to see their names.

+ = Zoom in.
- = Zoom out.
^ Use these when trying to find map portals.
Green dot: Maps
Yellow Paws: Other players
Green Paws: Party members, aka the person(s) you're in a party with.

Chat Controls

There are Local, General and Party chats.
Local: People can hear what you say if they are around you (name tags are in viewing distance).
General: People in the map can hear you regardless of distance.
Party: People in invited in your party chat can hear you, regardless of distance or in other maps.

Toggle between them by clicking on their names.

/friend (username) - e.g. /friend Zaroque adds 'Zaroque' in your friends list (N)
/party (username) - e.g. /party Zaroque invites Zaroque into a party with you (P), to add someone you must be in the same map and dimension as the user. Once the user is added you can talk in any dimension or map, even if the user(s) aren't there with you!
/(username): e.g. /Zaroque: (message here), this function is called Whisper or Private Message (PM), it sends the user a private message only seen by them and you in the chat.
/block (username) e.g. /block Zaroque. This stops you from seeing their characters or messages in the chat.

Other Controls

To take screenshots press Prt Sc on your keyboard, or FN print screen, depends on what type of keyboard you use.
Screenshots will be saved in your Screenshots folder.

Press Tab to hide name tags and windows for best screenshots (press it more than once, you can press it again to return them).

I'm not sure how much I understand the friend function. :/ explain a little more?

To add someone to your friends list, you type /friend (username)
After which, you should see them appear on your friends list when you press N

Chat commands (Continued)
/(Username): (Message) -- This is how you send a PM [Personal Message] to someone. This message will only be visable to you and the user you sent it to, and no one else.
/block (username) -- This command blocks a user, so you can no longer see them, nor see their chats (including PMs, Party invitations, and Etc.)

[EDIT] I forgot to add, the /party function only works if the user is in the Same Dimension \and\ the Same map. Once added to the party, users can move freely to other  maps and other Dims, and still talk in Party. It is only when adding a user with the /party command that one must be in the same Map and Dimension.

These are quite helpful to newbies. I remember when I joined I never read ANY of the threads so I was so confused on what the controls were but I finally figured them all out by time. xD

Thx so much for posting this! I just joined today and had no idea on how to play till I checked this thread! Just one thing, what do the deer eat? Do they eat plants (and how do you do this if they do?), or hunt like the rest of the animals? Just asking because I'm a deer whose name is King. :)

Hi Aqua,
On Last Moon we don't have an eating system, so playable models don't eat anything!

I read that people say pressing Shift or [Fn] while pressing F1, F2, F3 and F4 helps if your F... keys are bound to screen brightness and such. Try it, if not, you can make a help thread for further discussion on the matter.

I know how to attack and cure myself, and I've already cured myself once, but it won't let me attack again and I don't know why...I've exited the game to see if that helped, but it didn't, and I don't know why

Is there a reason why I can't attack anymore? I'm not wounded or anything, I'm at perfect health in fact

I'm trying to attack baby penguins for a quest, in case you're wondering

If I'm not mistaken you can't attack baby penguins, you could praise them though. Try attacking something else?

I wasn't able to find the kittens, I looked everywhere in Castle but I ended up leaving for the Cave of Sacrifice for the massive rats...but none showed up either

Oops, got carried away. Sorry, Zaroque. :-[

@happystool, have you tried the peacocks on Bonfire Island? Try to kill more than one, to get the item you are looking for. Most of the time, it takes more than one prey to kill. The ones that drop the rose are Baby Peacocks, Berry Peacocks and White Peacocks, not peahens. They are the mode of the bunch of animals that drop the Rose. You can check out all the animals in the link below. You could also try buying the item at the Head Items NPC.

What does tame-prey do? Does it make the prey your pet or something??
Title: Re: Game Guide (Controls)
Post by: Dutchval on May 24, 2015, 07:27:54 PM
The tame skill gives you a very low chance of taming certain prey. When tamed, the prey will become your pet. It works a bit like pokemon, where you have to lower the prey's health until it is almost dead, and then use a LOT of tames on it. A lot meaning, around 150-200 tames.

To see if certain prey are tameable, check our wiki under the Home tab.

You're better off using medals to buy stuff in LM rather than tames.

Since you're on a laptop, you will need to press the function(fn) key located usually at the lower left next to the control(ctrl) button. Then while you're holding that said button in you can press one of the function keys so you can switch the modes.

Alternatively, using the right "Shift" key while pressing them also works on some laptops too. I have the same problem.

This thread hasn't been posted on in over half a year. Plus, this isn't the right place to get answers. Make your own Game Help thread and ask there, specifically detailing what is wrong.
I'll be locking this :L
