Game Won't Open?
« on: January 10, 2016, 09:07:34 PM »
So I downloaded Last Moon and I saw at the bottom to download the two links if it wasn't working so I did. I tried opening it again and it showed the "Looking for bugs" thing on the tiny black screen and it goes away and the game doesn't open. Does it take more than that to download it?

The updater never looks for bugs xD I don't know what you opened, but it isn't Last Moon.
Are you sure you installed the two extra links?
If LM finished the initial installation, then copy/paste the contents of the update.log, which can be found at your LM folder, by right clicking the LM icon on your desktop, and then clicking "Open File Location"

The updater for LM is being blocked by your Antivirus system. Either temporarily disbable it, or make it an exception to you firewall/antivirus/etc.

Thank you!!!

I have no idea what else I could do, I made it an exception and turned off the firewall and ti didn't work, and my antivirus system doesn't have the option to make it an exception, it just scans

I find it highly unlikely that your antivirus has no exceptions list. Have you checked your settings? Which antivirus do you have?

Also I have to warn you to no post twice in a row, because you've done it twice now. Instead just edit/modify your first one.

I have McAfee, when I click on it it only scans for stuff, I don't see anywhere where I could make a list. And sorry I didn't know about the two post thing x.x

According to a 30 second google search you can access your exclusions list by doing this (copy/pasted):

  • Step 1
Type “VirusScan Console” at the Start screen and press “Enter.”
  • Step 2
Right-click “On-Access Scanner” listed in the left window pane and select “Properties.”
  • Step 3
Click “All Processes, Detection, Exclusions” and select the “Exclusions” tab.
  • Step 4
Click the “Add” button, click “Browse” and select the folder or file you want to add as an exception.
  • Step 5
Click “OK” in the “Add Exclusions Item” dialog box and click “OK” in the “Set Exclusions” prompt.
  • Step 6
Click “Apply” in the “On-Demand Scan Properties” window and click “OK” to save your settings.

The path for your Last Moon folder would be like this (of course replacing the YOUR USERNAME with your computer name xD):

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Last Moon
