Discussion & Suggestions / Re: What new animals do you want to see?
« on: July 10, 2014, 05:46:23 PM »

Yes. We need dragons.

Some playable avians would be nice. Totally owls though. Everyone needs more owls.
Not so sure about horses, although I can see them as being playable, cause heck we already have deer....
But wouldn't be nice to have some playable reptiles? Alligators are successful predators. They need more love. As do Komodo Dragons.

Very good tips Sil!
I've read over them, and I thought that maybe I can contribute?

First off, it is always good to keep in mind that no matter how much time you spend on developing a new character, no matter how satisfied you are with their design/story/personality and no matter how good they might sound/look to others, etc, they are still very capable of becoming just another wasted space in your roster. What I mean is, they don't show up in so much as two roleplay sessions and instead just sit there....rotting...and not be used again. And it IS possible, and probably more likely to happen if you have a lot of characters. Every roleplayer will experience loss of muse (motivation or ideas to write for a character) or become distracted/focused on a certain set of other characters. Your timing for the character might have just been poor IC wise, depending on the events that have already been set in your group's story. Whatever the case, it can happen, and chances are it will.

That being said, also keep in mind that the complete opposite can happen. You might have created a random character out of the blue, with no time to work on his/her back story, personality, whatever. You might take some time to work on their personality after a while, but you don't have any big plans for them. And yet, suddenly, there comes the perfect opportunity for your character to shine, for whatever reason they become tied into some big plot because of one roleplay, and suddenly, woop-dee-do, you're using them often. Now this doesn't happen nearly as often as the opposite, but it can happen.

Next thing. Give your individual characters breaks. Don't stick to one character all day for several days. Mix it up, give your partners and yourself a chance to use different characters and promote some new development between them. You might have a ton of muse for one character, and that does happen, but try to use a character that you would be comfortable using in their place every once in a while. Who knows, you might just write up a really good roleplay using that character. And while your favorite might be a likable character in general, using that same character over and over and over in several consecutive roleplays can create boredum for your partners. This is especially if you're on frequently.

That's all I have off the top of my head.

Thanks guys!
I need to do more art this summer. I've been doing all sorts of stuff in my sketchbooks, but I'm too lazy to scan them all LOL.

I'll probably add some LM sketches at some point though~

VIDEOS
(Click the titles!)

Swimming

A video that I am most proud of. I made it around this time just last year. The video includes clips from Brave, HTTYD, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmarron, and other content. The song I used is called "Swimming," from the Water Horse Soundtrack.

I Will Always Remember the Stuff We Did

A slightly fixed up version of a video in January of 2013. The video uses the song "Stuff We Did" from the Up Soundtrack. I'm happy with it! :3

We Were the Kings and Queens of Promise

Did I mention how much I love 30 Seconds to Mars? So I made an AMV using clips from the video game "Journey" and the song "Kings and Queens" this one is probably my most recent work, since the more recent videos I've made are just fixed up versions of older ones.

Legend of the Guardians - 300

A LOTG trailer I made using audio from the famous 300 trailer. This one's a newer version of an older one that I made, but unfortunately you'll encounter a slight ticking sound in the middle of the trailer, curtesy of youtube video creator. I had found that I had made a mistake in the editting, so I had to fix it up in the youtube video editor since Sony Vegas takes so freakin' long to render videos. Hope you still enjoy it!

ART

Gone For Another Swim

My most recent piece of work. I felt that my old background needed some updating, so I once again chose my pokesona, Neon (the Lugia,) as the subject of my latest project. I'm very satisfied with how it turned out, and I feel that it is a big improvement from my previous background.

Spring Has Arrived!

A project I did for the recently closed deviantArt group, PKMN-Crossing. This features my character for the group, Celeste the Servine, and her pet Anorith, Oliver, as they stroll outside on a beautiful spring morning. This is one of my favorite pieces that I did for the group, along with "Under the Autumn Moon," which I did in October. It's sad to see the group go, but I had fun being a part of it.

Oh look, a Luke Pony.

As you can tell from my icon, Luke Triton from the Professor Layton series happens to be one of my favorite video game characters. I run a roleplay blog for him on tumblr (xbluecap) and a little fun with my friend resulted in me drawing a pony-fied Luke. Also included my friend's character, who roleplays a Link, also pony-fied.

Tea and Cakes

Speaking of which, have some Professor Layton Art. I should mention that playing Azran Legacy made me sick with feels and made Aurora and Luke buddies my OTP. A quote from the game where Aurora mentioned that she wanted to share a cake with Luke inspired me to draw this. I really wish they had a special episode or something that summed up their friendship. ;w;

Mini-Games / Rate the Avatar Above You!
« on: June 18, 2014, 10:11:22 PM »
I'm surprised that this hasn't already been made yet. o-o

So I'm just gonna make one for the fun.

Here's what you do: (If you don't already know what to do)
  • Simply post a rating from 1-10 (1/10, 2/10, etc) to the avatar of the person who posted just before you. The next person will then give a rating for your avatar, and the person after that will give a rating to theirs, and so on and so forth.
  • I will add a rule to this (Not that everyone cares and it will probably ignored,) but please don't take consecutive terms! Don't give someone a rating and wait until the next person has posted their rating for you and then go right after that person consecutively! Wait until at least three people have posted before taking your turn again, that way, more folks have a higher chance of getting different ratings from different people!

Have fun and enjoy~

But my friends also call me Bazoo, or Moo.

And I've come from Last Moon's old forum to migrate to, well...
....Last Moon...

As you can tell I'm a devoted a fan of Professor Layton and Pokemon. NOTHING NEW HERE.

Well, for those of us who want to get creative, I'd suggest folks who want to use a nice feather pattern to their advantage.

For Example (These are links);
Spotted owl feathers
Peregrine Falcon striping and mask
Barn owl feathers (Spotting)

And maybe a fish patterns if you want some ideas.
Mandarinfish
Powder Blue Surgeonfish
Blue Damselfish (Notice the stripe between the eyes)

Just some ideas and suggestions. A few unique markings based off of non-mammalian animals can really help with the creativity, ya know?
