Yes, I downloaded the first one, I think... The one that wasn't WinZip. I can go and download that one if I have to.

Okay. Well, I'm actually not entirely sure how to do that. The only option my firewall seems to have is to only allow an app through, and I've done that. I added all three apps in the Last Moon folder and still it continues to do the same thing.

I have. At least, I've put the app in the list of things to ignore. It hasn't helped the problem at all. Do I need to put the whole folder?

Game Help / Problems with opening/updating the game
« on: July 08, 2017, 09:42:03 PM »
I downloaded the game a little over a month ago, and have never been able to access it. Every time I try to open it it brings up the update window and says this:
Quote
File "<string>", line 77, in <module>
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 126, in urlopen
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 400, in open
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 418, in _open
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 378, in _call_chain
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 1207, in http_open
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 1177, in do_open
URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it>
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried running the game as an administrator, I've tried whitelisting it in both my anti-virus and my firewall. I've even tried deleting both .txt files in the folder and nothing has seemed to help. The same problem appears to be happening with Dawn of Eternity as well. I honestly dunno what to do at this point. I just really wanna play this game but it doesn't appear to wanna let me... It's kind of frustrating. :/

So, anyway got any ideas?

Delete which file, Gray? Because if it was the .txt file he had suggested then I've already done that and the problem still persists. I've actually done everything he had suggested and nothing's appeared to work... :/

Okay. Thank you so much.

And to the original creator of this thread, I'd just like to say sorry for hijacking and if this happens to be the same problem that you were having in the first place let us know and if we've found the solution we'll share. ^^

Sorry my replies have become far and few in between. XP But no, I'm afraid. I even tried the same thing with the update.txt file and still the same thing.

I'm wondering particularly about that error line it keeps popping up, about how the target machine is actively refusing whatever it's trying to do... I've tried running the game as an administrator, but I'm afraid the results have been the same... I wonder if there would be a way into 'tricking' my computer into thinking the game as downloaded and/or finished whatever it's trying to do properly when it actually hasn't...

Wired. I'm fairly certain anyway. XD I can connect to it wirelessly if I want but it's physically connected to my computer if that's what that means. XP I'm a doof, sorry.

And okay. I'll give it a try.

I've updated my firewall, and added Last Moon to the list of allowed apps, but it's still doing the same thing as before...

Okay. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it is still giving me the same message as stated above. I'm not entirely sure what that error means, but from what is said I feel like it seems to be a problem with my computer and not with the game itself... I wonder if there is anything I could change/update to try and see if the problem could be fixed.

Not yet, but I'll try and do that now. Btw, thank you for your help, it is much appreciated! ^^ I really want to play this game so trying to figure out what's wrong is something I'd very much like to do.

Okay, I tried this and still the same thing happened. For the hell of it, I looked in the "Update.txt" file as well and it says this:
"Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 77, in <module>
  File "C:\Last Moon update\build\pyi.win32\Last Moon\out00-PYZ.pyz\urllib2", line 126, in urlopen

URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it>
"
Any ideas?

I'm going to reply to this thread seeing as I see no reason to start a new one for the same problem. I can't get the game to start for an unknown reason. The load box will appear when I click on the launcher it says 'Looking for new updates' pops up some text to fast for me to read and exits itself out and never does anything else afterward. I dunno what to do, I've used both the desktop shortcut and the in folder file, but they both just do the same thing... Any ideas as to how to fix this?
