Game Help / 'game.exe has stopped working' error

I joined the website a few minutes ago and have just downloaded the game. Initially, the game seemed to be working fine; it was loading quickly. However, once it reaches gui.overlay, the game crashes and I receive the error code 'game.exe has stopped working', making the game unplayable. I have tried to run the game as an administrator, but it made no difference. I tried to use both Direct3D9 and OpenGL as well.

Any ideas on what I could try next?
