Thank you. Version.txt is not found in 'game' but rather just sitting in the main folder at the very bottom. Right click roam heart on the desktop, for windows 8, then open file location. From there it was right in front of me. This needs to be put into a new thread for any windows 8 operators such as myself.

Testing out the game now.....straight to Jungle.

It did not work for me until I downloaded the extra links down at the bottom. I have windows 8 as well.

Not the only problem is the coooooonstant crashing. Be warned.

I just got the game, thinking 'oh hey, this looks pretty awesome.' but unfortunately since almost every single map crashes, I am unwilling to play unless I get some help on finding the folder containing the .txt or whathaveyou to get the updates or fix whatever is wrong. I repeat, JUST joined. :I Not trying to come off as rude, but it's a tad bit irritating...
