I've never made an IT-style map before, but I plan on making one for when the new update comes out! I've already gotten the terrain, heightmap, and textures done. I added a few trees only because apparently the new Last Moon will have an easier way of placing objects (I'm so glad; it's so tiresome!). BUT I wanted to give a little preview. I also have two of my best Feral Heart maps, and I want your opinions on me possibly remaking them.
This is Ages Forest. An ancient cliff-side forest where Sequoia trees have lived for hundreds of years. It is located on an island surrounded by harrowing ocean storms, cutting away at the rock face to form the steepest of dangerous cliffs. It's location is still unknown, but maybe... just maybe, a portal will open up to this strange land soon...
In the heart of a swampland there is a place of refuge known as Vennus Hollows. There is rumored to be a strange old 'witch' of sorts that lives within. Is she dangerous, with her poisons and brews, or a kind, lonely soul...?
Deep in the colorful Putnar Forest, there is a strange building. Trees are being cut down, and there is a foul-smelling smoke coming from the log cabin. It seems dangerous to go near, but who else is there to protect this forest?

« on: July 15, 2014, 01:38:26 PM »So, I've had this idea in my head for a while now. I'm aware it may but hopefully not cause some dire opinions to be forcefully heard regarding the topic(s). Let me further say that these are my opinions. While some may agree, others may not, and that's fine. That's what personal opinions are all about. I hope we can all be mature here and I do not want to hear aggressive, insulting, or otherwise hateful comments toward anyone! Constructive criticism is highly recommended, though. This is the Discussions and Suggestions board, after all! 
I know that's a horrible topic title choice, but I couldn't think of a better word. I'm talking about the freedom to create maps, presets, and even things like emotes to share with friends and the community. I was, when first coming here from FH, horrified that I couldn't bring my presets and maps over, or at least re-do them. And not only that; there simply was no reason for me to re-do my maps because they wouldn't even be allowed, and very limited preset options. Those were two of my biggest issues here, and I still stand by the idea that private or at least user-made maps should be allowed in game. Perhaps a miniature portal island specifically for yours/your friends maps. And if private maps are still a no? Then at least the option to offer up your maps in the forums to be reviewed by an admin/mod, and perhaps added in a future update (I'm talking about AFTER the big update, or for it, of course). Hold contests, like, November's contest would be who could create the best snow-themed map or something like that. Why should we have to be a mod to be able to add a few maps/etc to the game for the community?
I'm really hoping for donator packs for presets as well. And, hey, on the note of contests, why not hold some before the big update? You may never know; given the UV for the new models when they're done, I could pop out some cool markings to add to the game, and I know a lot of others who could as well! Or skies, or maps, or emotes, or textures, or whatever! Give the option to let this be more of a sandbox game without having to become a game mod.

So I have plenty of Preset and Map experience from my time in FeralHeart. I never tried making markings, but I figure it shouldn't be too hard. I also was able to make emotes to share with my friends, and I would love to make emotes for the next version of Last Moon.
I'm considering trying to put in a Developer App, but I will admit I have no experience with IT mapmaking, although I am wiling to give it a shot with a a proper tut.
So, I'm going to take a few requests for emotes to give me something to start with
Edit: Derped and made 6 emotes. Look shockingly like other emotes? Yeah. Not many options DX But they're okay. For example. Also check out the 'trial and error' pic XD

Brain isnt working.
For prey I love the random things, like lizards and random useless birds. Make an emu prey XD Bats and various flying birds mean a LOT to some members (for pets/companion characters) and I also personally adore the frogs. socute.
