Hmm... This happens to me too but with the fire shard.
The visual effect of the shard disappears sometimes and only can be fixed if I stash it, then reequip it.

Feral Heart.
According to some rumors, the source code was given to someone or the code is being cloned to make a new Feral Heart that can be properly updated.
Not sure if it is true, do not believe it 100%.

Last Moon has a pleasant community. I have yet to see trolls ingame and even on the website. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Feral-Heart on the other hand seems to radiate some kind of indifference and I have seen mean people around. Sure, it isnt the game's fault, it is more about the staff and how they do their jobs. Do they actually stop negative behavior? According to what I have seen so far... No. No, they dont.
Last Moon has an open and friendly staff, who want to stay close and chat. They dont just sit around. They are active, talking, just being part of the community, while also do a good job in keeping order. Fh's staff is silent and distant. They make it clear they are the 'top predators' on the game and want to make sure you know your place. They have a small clique they keep around, though.
In the past years, FH was not going anywhere. They kept telling their players that the reason why there is no update is because the source code is gone. This is why they cannot add items, markings or edit the models. People believed them but eventually they could not stop them from leaving out of boredom. The ONLY reason they actually updated the game was because -according to rumors- the FH source code got leaked and now there is another FH clone in the making. People were thrilled by the news and the staff did not like it. Otherwise, they would not have made an update.
If the code really got leaked or not... I dont know. But it is quite a coincidence that right after the information was revealed, suddenly FH is updated.
Anyway, Last Moon has and always will be better than FH. Mainly because it offers so many things beside just sitting around and chatting. Hunting, the trade system and pets, along with more items and animations will always triumph. The staff of FH already said they will never include hunting and pets... This is a big mistake. People want something to do...

Are you sure your computer meets the system requirements?
I am not entirely certain if Last Moon was meant to work on WindowsXP... It is an operating system that is no longer officially supported by Microsoft anymore.
Adding onto CanineCat's detailed list, maybe another way to fix this would be to install the two additional files in the Download section. They are called DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++.
Yet another fix could be changing the rendering system between OpenGL and Direct3D. See what works for you.
Hope this helped.

They should rather not create another ingame account.
As far as I can see, they were creating a character, so they have one already. We are only allowed one account per person.

Does it also write out a dll file in brackets after the error message? If that is the case, then you got missing files. Depending on which one, you can do two things:
1. You can redownload and reinstall the game.
2. Install the two additional files found in the Download page (DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++)
Also, make sure you delete your Version.txt file to let the game check for any additional downloads.

You mentioned that you have downloaded UTorrent.
Are you downloading stuff while you run the game by any chance?
Bittorrents are very much brandwith-hoggers and will make your machine and internet very slow. It is enough that someone in the house starts a download. It will affect you too.

Hmm...
This is an interesting idea.
I can see this work for some kind of events hosted by our admins and mods but sadly, I am afraid I believe as an everyday feature it could potentially cause some problems. The game cannot be monitored 24/7, although I am sure our admins and mods do their best to do so. While Last Moon has an amazing community and the most people I met could easily play PVP with the utmost respect for consent. But one should not ignore potential issues, despite this.
There would be people getting away with non-consented PVP. Or new people wanting to check out the map and get attacked before they would realize what it is or be able to look around the map.
But...
Maybe when you spawn on the map, you would be automatically put into a section that is a non-PVP zone, to give people a safe place to return to or spawn without being attacked, either accidentally or intentionally.
That would make the feature so much more safe.

This is a small 'contest' I am going to be holding regardless of time. It will have no end and no time limit, so prepare to laugh.
A lot.
Objective:
Make me laugh.
That's it.
Tell me a joke. Any joke that you think is awesome when you see me ingame.
Requirements:
Have a joke at the ready.
But make sure to wait for me to kill that dragon or any larger prey I am fighting.
Nothing else.
Prize:
If I find your joke funny, I will give you something in return.
Prizes range from a bronze medal to random small items.
So get out there and equip yourself with your favorite laughing material.
